That can depend on company policy. If you were not scheduled to work on a particular day, and then a co-worker called in sick, then your employer may call you and request that you fill in for the one that was originally scheduled to work that day. But you are not legally required to go to work if it is not your scheduled day to work. But keep in mind, you may need someone to fill in for you one day, so it could be in your best interest to comply with your boss's request to go in to work on your day off.
The work is scheduled to be completed by next Friday.
In the USA this is covered by the federal Fair Labor Standards Act from the 1930s. If you are scheduled to work but for some reason you do not actually go to the job and work, you will not be paid. If you are scheduled and you show up and work, you MUST be paid for the actual time on the job. If you are scheduled and they call you 5 minutes before you leave home to drive to the job and they tell you it is a slow day and they tell you not to come in, you will not be paid.
Flight 93 was scheduled to go to San Francisco. All of the others were going to Los Angeles.
Yes, a employer can hire you to work two hours a day. If you are scheduled to work and they tell you that there is no work and send you home, but you have not worked two hours . . . they still have to pay you for a minimum of two hours of work or half of your scheduled work shift. Some people are only scheduled an arrival time and not a specific leave time. If you volunteer to go home, then this does not apply. Bear in mind, I am in California. I am not certain if this law only applies to my state . . . Sorry for the long response, but at least you will understand why it is okay to work only two hours.
"H" on a work schedule typically stands for "Holiday." It indicates that an employee is scheduled to work on a holiday. Alternatively, it could also indicate "Hours" if it is indicating the number of hours an employee is scheduled to work.
The case is scheduled to go to trial next month.
When you miss work and have no contact with your employer for 3 scheduled work days.
Your boss has to ask you to work over, it is illegal to keep you passed your scheduled hours.

I have found nothing in our contract or the P.O 603 about being available when not scheduled. However, I have given my cell number to the supervisors if they need additional help on my non-scheduled days. It is good money.
