Firstly a scientist will proceed by checking whether the drug is corrosive or visibly reactive with a bodily fluid within the body. Then, animals are used as representations of living things, to see the affects it has on that specific animal. After tests on animals with similar bodily structures to humans (such as monkeys) humans are tested, again to see if any side affects are caused by the drug. After this, if all is showing positive results, scientists gather up humans with different conditions, diseases or illnesses such as Diabetes, and test the drug on them. If no Allergies or side affects are seen, the drug is safe and can be officially used in sergeries and on patients.
