However; if you are not a violent felon, 3 Years after you are discharged from MODOC (that includes parole or probation) you may petition the BATF to have your gun rights restored. Congress has directed the BATF not to use any funds alloted to them from congress to process the application, so they just pile up. There is hope though. Petition the governor to reinstate your civil rights and he can do it. He may decide to limit it so that you may only own long guns or shotguns, or no guns at all.
