Federalists supported checks and balance and Anti Federalists didn't.

their biggest difference, as with political parties today, was the role of government. the federalists favored a strong central government and the antis favored more of a republic where the states made their own decisions

there difference was tha the anti federalist thought that un less the contituiton had a Bill of Rights the government would become to powerful. the federalist thought the constitution was fine and thought no changes were needed
