I purchased a 2003 Mits and paid it off years ago and when I tried to get a duplicate title (lost the original) the DMV said there is a lien on it and I have to have citi financial release the lien and send me a letter with the VIN number listed on the letter along with a signature and release of the lien. The VIN number is JA3AJ26E53U100625 the names on the titles are Barbara J. Dixon & Bernel Dixon Jr. 8903 Cedar Top Dr. Houston, Texas 77088
Could you PLEASE send me the letter as stated I cannot ride around with no title in the car and need to get it registered to sale. I have been to the DMV 3 times and still having trouble getting the duplicate
Thank You for your help in this matter
I did some company research, because I couldn't find my title/release of lien. I called a couple of CitiFinancial offices for more info. Turns out CitiFinancial Auto went out of business in Sept, 2010. They were purchased by Santander, an international finance corporation.

800 922 6235 customer service 800 256 1116 collections These are the numbers for CitiFinancial, but CitiFinancial Auto was sold off to Santander in September 2010. If you were still paying at that time, you should contact Santander. If, like me, you needed paperwork from an earlier payoff, you need to contact a Citi archives office that was set up. Yes, if you default on a personal loan with a vehicle as collateral, Citifinancial may place a lien on your home to secure the debt. This would allow them to pursue a foreclosure on your property if the debt remains unpaid. It's important to consult with a legal professional to fully understand your rights and options in this situation.
