How do laws become laws?

Laws become laws to protect people, property and themselves from crimes done by others and the person committing the crime.

^^^ That's just telling why we have laws. The questions was acting HOW laws become laws.

In Canada, laws become laws by the Federal Accountability Act which Canada's government passed in December 2006. Within the legislative branch, bills go through several steps to become laws. The House of Commons:

1. first reading

2. second reading then study or rejects the bill.

3. Committee Stage either - Amend the Bill

- Accept the Bill

- or reject the bill

4. If the bill is accepted it then goes through a report stage and then through a third reading. After the third reading, if the bill is then accepted the Senate then goes through all the steps the House of Commons went through, but they do not get to reject the bill

After all this happens, the Senate then Debate and vote on House decision. and the house of commons debate and vote on Senate amendment's. The bill becomes law after the Governor general gives royal assent.

An amendment is a change, addition, or deletion made to a law. It can't become a law because it already is a law. Therefore, it goes through no process.
