According to state law, 13 years old is the age for babysitting. But i don't think that necesarily applies for siblings.

Here's the thing: Michigan state law is an odd thing. There is no statute on the age one sibling can watch another. There is a statue on babysitting, and 13 is indeed the age. So, under the law, an eleven year old brother could watch his eight year old brother with no consequences. However, if there would be an incident where either of the boys is injured, becomes ill and requires medical attention, or law enforcement gets involved for any reason, the parents could be held criminally liable under neglect laws. The state can do nothing before, but they can destroy your life after.
