Every state is different. Where I live, if you are the responsible party in the wreck then your insurance has to repair the vehicle that you hit. You will be responsible for paying your deductible to have your vehicle fixed. Also the driver without insurance will be ticketed by the authorities if they are present.

What will renters insurance cover?

Renter's Insurance covers anything that may happen to your property, and in some cases your neighbor's property, while you are renting. If the building should catch on fire, your renter's insurance will cover your belongings. If it was your fault in some way, it will cover your neighbor's belongings.

If you are in an accident and it is your fault does your insurance pay for both cars?

No lovey not if your the one at fault... Insurance only covers the other person if your at fault sorry honey..... It depends on what insurance coverage you have. The liability coverage that all states require you to carry on any registered vehicle will cover the other person's damage. If you also purchased collision insurance, that will pay for your vehicle (less the deductable).

What if you are injured as a passenger in a car with no insurance?

If the driver of the car you were in was at fault and had no insurance you are out of luck. your only recourse if to sue the person who you were driving with to recover damages. If your driver was not at fault but had no insurance the other parties insurance would have to cover your damages. The lesson is not to ride with people who do not carry auto insurance, ever.
