Yes FARC is a terrorist organnization. It attacks the country of Colombia. It is the oldest rebell aliance in the world that still works. The UN, USA, and Colombia have fought against it. The people of Colombia always march, sing, pray, argue, and fight for the captured civilians, political people, and military personnel. The FARC live in the Amazon rain forest, especially in the side of Venezuela. The Venezuelian president considers them as brothers, while the people do not think that way but are forced to do so. Venezuela, Nicaragua and Ecuador have, and may still be helping them. Hugo Chavez is the FARC's greates ally, and 3rd greatest enemy of Colombia, next to the FARC and the mafia. Like the Colombian mafia, the FARC makes alot of its money from narco-trafficing (may be spelled wrong) cocaine and marijuana. Because of the FARC, Colombia is still a poor country, it gives the country a bad reputation. A lot of the world's population knows Colombia only by cocaine, and think's that it is the country's largest export. It is not, Roses, Flowers, and mechanics are the largest export. In the last decade the FARC have lost many battles and their troops. The Colombian president, Alvaro Uribe, has dedicated most of his presidency to ending the FARC. Colombia loves this president, jest like the U.S. loves Lincoln, Obama, Washington, and Benjamin Franklin. The FARC have lost most of it's troops by surrender, the surrendering troops are interviewed and then given a new life to raise a family and have an honest job. The FARC have become even more peaceful, they have stopped kidnapping, and have released a lot of the kidnapped troops. The US is Colombia's most powerful allie, it has helped with technology and to train troops, even though American troops get easily sick in the jungle, since they are more trained for the desert. Colombia is at a strategic place because of its position. It is very fertile, most of the land has a tropical climate to grow good food, and the cold parts grow food that well grows in the cold. It is also the opening to Central America. As well as having coasts to both the Pacific and Atlantic oceans. It is also the best connection between Nicaragua, Venzuela, and Ecuador, who do not like the US. Without Colombia the whole south American continent would go against the US. I am sorry that I got out of topic but that is what I know, and yes I am a proud Colombian.

FARC
There are a number of left-wing terrorist organizations, such as FARC in Colombia, the Japanese Red Army, Shining Path, and Eco-Terrorist Groups.
The Anti-FARC paramilitary organization was primarily known as the AUC, or the United Self-Defense Forces of Colombia (Autodefensas Unidas de Colombia). Formed in the late 1990s, the AUC aimed to combat the influence and activities of FARC (Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia) and other leftist guerrilla groups. The organization was involved in numerous human rights violations and was officially demobilized in the mid-2000s.

In reality, there is little operational difference between a terrorist organization and a terrorist network. A network is sometimes more loosely connected than an organization.
