This act is VERY illegal. Much like reading someone's actual mail (although reading someone's mail is more illegal than an email it is still severely punishable) it is the federal law to not rubberneck into someone's emails. There is a bit of a turn side though, you can STILL get in deep trouble if you are a spouse of the one's emails your reading if he or she decides to bring you to court. If he/she did not give you permission to read these emails, then that is against the federal law. Your penalty may be facing a few years in jail and a huge fine. And you can't forget if he/she wants to press charges on you for rubbernecking as well. Now, if it were your daughter or son, then this law is violated due to the matter of this being your child. By law, parents have the parental rights to check emails or even text messages off of their child's phone. -Chris
