Some places may have a dress code that includes footwear but that's pretty uncommon these days.

I occasionally see a "no shoes-noshirt-no service" sign that's been left over from the 60's and 70's anti-hippy movement, they're rare and hardly ever enforced.

There has been an increased amount of medical research over the last several years which show all the ill-effects that shoes have on our feet, lower extremity joints, back, and even internal organs.

Go barefoot and be healthy. I can't think of a better activity to do barefoot tha Golf.
