In Canada, people who attempt suicide and survive may be held for psychiatric examination to determine if they are dangerous to themselve or other people. If the person is found legally insane they may be incarcerated in a medical facility. If the person is found to be legally sane they are free to refuse any medical treatment and cannot be held.

A certain crime is punishable if attempted but not punishable if committed what is it?

I would think it would be suicide. It is a crime to take another person's life and a crime to attempt to take your own life. If you succeeded in committing suicide you would be dead anyway so could not be held accountable. the correct answer is capital
