In the United States, most elementary schools issue lists of what supplies they want children to bring; these lists are different from district to district. In many places, the elementary schools will ask stores that sell school supplies to post their lists - the elementary school will ask the closest Target, Staples, Office Depot, Office Max, and Walmart to show their lists of required supplies. The list will also be posted on the school's web site and on the school district's web site. A typical list usually includes these items, but the amounts may be different: Pencils Pens (blue or black) Looseleaf paper (wide-ruled) Looseleaf binders Pocket folders Index cards Spiral notebooks Marbled composition books Highlighters Glue sticks Ruler Colored pencil set
