Yes. Children tend to be taken advantage of because they will work for lower wages. Also, allowing children to join the workforce encourages them to leave school and sacrifice their education. Society is better served by a workforce with a higher level of education.

It interferes with their ability to acquire any education, it ruins their health and leaves them with little freedom to play. It can take various forms such as involuntary servitude, child slavery, sale by parents, etc.

In the United States during the Industrial Revolution children were forced to work long hours in industrial settings with little food and water and little time off to rest. They were overworked, inhaled dangerous substances, their health was usually ruined, their growth stunted and they often died young. Uniform child labor laws were finally passed in the United States by the early twentieth century.

Around the world child labor is still commonplace. It is estimated that over 215 million children from 5 to 17 are in forced employment around the world suffering conditions that are illegal, hazardous and/or extremely exploitative.

Child labor is illegal because they don't want 2 year olds working in factories so their parents would sue the company. People who labor children with adult work are abusers of children, no exceptions.
