Amelia Earhart was killed because, she got lost, ran out of gas, was not good enough to fly around the world, and tried to do something that was bigger that she could accomplish. She needed to find Howland Island, a small island in the Pacific Ocean in order to reach safety and she missed it by enough miles, that she and Fred Noonah, crashed into the ocean and died. It was not the island that killed Ms. Earhart, she simply was not capable of flying around the world in the plane she attempted to achieve her goal.
