What are the reason to abolish capital punishment?

Im running for president in 2028 and Im abolishing the death penalty in the US once and for all becasue I belive that life without parrole is the biggest punishment the criminal will reseve for there crimes. Abolitionist's argue that the death penalty is cruel and unusual. They also believe that it is not a deterrent to criminal acts. If someone is later found innocent they can be taken out of prison which can't be done if they were put to death under capital punishment. Another strong point in abolishing the death penalty is the cost. Many states are looking into abolishing the death penalty because of their economic issues.
