Judges make decision after hearing both the sides of the evidence, the document produced and the law of the land being enforced in that particular state.
indecision
The decision has consequences that matter a lot to the character
They shouldn't belong to any party - as that could make them biased in their decision-making.
when a character must make a decision that will change the course of the story.
An answer would make no difference. No one can possibly know what is in a judge's miond when he makes that decision. It is not up to the defendant to make such a choice anyway. The choice is totally the judges and based on subjective factors to which refers to make his decision.
Filming a character from above can make them seem vulnerable, while filming them from below can make them seem powerful or intimidating. Each perspective can influence how the audience perceives the character's role and characteristics in the story.
Writers reveal information about characters in two basic ways:Direct characterization - telling the reader directly about the character, as in "He was a hard, bitter man."Indirect characterization - showing the reader about the character by dialogue, action, and appearance, as in "He made the sort of face you'd make if you bit into a lemon when she walked into the room."
no because judges need to make a on the spot decision. (btw does anyone else record the routine for sexual purposes) is this weird, hope not my whole family does this on Wednesday night while having hungry jacks.

Judges don't make laws, governments legislatures do.
Judge's, as part of the Judicial Branch of government, do not "make policy" - maiking policy is the duty/responsibility of the Executive or Legislative branches of government. Judges make decisions based on established law and procedures. -IF- they encounter a legal situation which seems to have never been addressed before and they DO ultimately end up making a decision on the matter, that decision, if it stands appeals, is said to "set precedent" for all judicial rulings that follow it.
