you have to go to the DMV and take a Hazardous Materials text and when you pass that put the sticker on your license.....not too hard, you can get the test down loaded off of the internet for about $2.00.
That's how it used to be done. Nowadays, you not only have to take the written test, but you must also be fingerprinted and go through a TSA background check.. seeing as this is done at federal level, I'd assume the fee for this would match in every state, but can't say for certain.. in North Carolina, it costs an additional $94.
