Life in Whitechapel during the time of 1888 was known to be worthless, and cheap. Therefore the streets of Whitechapel were dangerous and risky. Murders to be with abuse, drinking, robbery, money or fights between gangs was very common and nothing out of the unordinary, especially for the street of Whitechapel where incidents like this occurred on a daily basis. Homelessness was a major problem at the time, so street was packed with prostitutes, immigrants and unemployed people, all looking for some sort of a way to gain money. When daylight went and night began to creep in, this was the time when people were at most risk especially prostitutes because they were out looking for business and the street of Whitechapel ideal. This is because there was a lack of lighting facilities at night and the narrow street and allies with gaps were the spot for business. Though sadly these places were also deal for brutal attacks to occur, Jack the Ripper murders.
1888 Most criminal historians agree that Jack The Ripper continued to kill after 1888. In the book by Patricia Cornwell Jack the Ripper Case Closed there is compelling proof that the Ripper crimes contiuned into the early 20th century.
They have not identified who Jack the ripper was and therefore no one can tell you if the offender had any family
I would bet my life on it. The crimes of JTR began, as far as we can tell, in early 1888. If the killer was in his twenties when he began to kill that would put his birth date in the 1860s. So I'm confident that he is in fact dead.
Although for over a century it was believed that the Ripper murders began with the death of Mary Ann (Polly) Nichols on August 31 1888. It is more likely that Martha Tabram, killed on August 6, 1888, was murdered by the same killer as Nichols. Some believe that an even earlier murder may have been by the Ripper. Emily Smith was attacked in the spring of 1888 but lived long enough to tell family that she was attacked by at least 3 men. I doubt Smith's death was a Ripper killing.
no one knows cos he was never caught all we know is , he was called Jack the Ripper. There is possibilty that Jack had a normal life like some notorious serial killers. On the other hand, he could be a loner like Jeffrey Dahmer.
"Blind-man's Buff" is a punch cartoon that came out on September 22 1888. It critizes the police for it's incompetence and the failure to capture the ripper. The cartoon also mocks the police's methods of detection. It doesn't tell us but shows a picture that the ripper is not going to be caught by the police of that day.
Jack the Ripper will probably always be a mystery. Maybe one day technology will be sophisticated enough, to uncover the truth behind this serial killer. Who knows? Only time will tell? Si
If you mean Jack The Ripper it is impossible to tell due to the fact that there are differing opinions on who his first victim was.
That's Hollywood. Nobody knows if Jack The Ripper wore a cloak or anything else. Cloaks were popular men's wear in the Victorian Age so I can imagine that is where the cloak and top hat image came from. Unless a bloody cloak was left at one of the crime scenes there would be know way to tell what the Ripper wore. In all probability, the Ripper would have worn clothes that would have let him blend in. The alternative would have been detection.
There is no way to tell. The Ripper was never caught and has never been positively identified. There were quotes from people that claimed to be JTR but it would only be speculation as to how authentic they are.
Given that there is no positive identification of who Jack the Ripper was, this question is impossible to answer. However, witnesses who saw the victims with a man stated that the man they saw with the victim was 35-40. Some witnesses saw victims with men within minutes of their deaths, which means they probably saw Jack the Ripper.Although age is a hard thing to gage in profiling a criminal most serial murderers begin killing before age 35. It should also be pointed out that the crimes speak of a younger perpatrator. Most likely mid 20s. JTRs crimes were out in the open on public streets and alleyways. This is indicative of a youger man. 20 year olds take more risks that someone pushing 40.Jack was never aprehended so the age was not confirmed.
As far as anyone can tell, Jack The Ripper cut the throats of all of his victims first, before disembowling and mutililating them. This is what is called his MO or modis operandi, how he killed his victims. There is a very logical reason why the Ripper cut his victim's throats first. It left them unable to scream and call attention to the killer. It worked very well. For the most part, JTR worked in relative quiet.
