Historically the raising of the Philippine flag at the terrace of the first Philippine President, Emilio Aguinaldo, is the first indication of Philippine independence. However, the Philippines did not acquire much independence this time because the Americans colonized them. For me, the true indication of Philippine independence is the first time Filipinos got a true and full hold in the country's goverment.
