American's freedom of speech is guaranteed by the first amendment. We are allowed to say anything we want to, as long as we don't create a dangerous situation.
For example, we are allowed to say, "I disagree with what the government is doing." It is important that we have this right because a free marketplace of ideas is important for any democracy.
But, our freedom of speech is limited. We are not allowed to shout, "FIRE" in a crowded movie theatre, because this would cause people to panic. People would run away and people could get very hurt in the stampede.
No freedoms are limited by the constitution. That is why there is a Bill of Rights.
The freedoms we are given in the US Constitution help promote business today.
