We all know common sense and the law are not intuitive. I am 53 and I have carried a pocket knife all my life (45 years) and I feel I use for something every day. I carry it clipped to my front pocket, in reasonable view. A few years back I received a Smith & Wesson SWAT Assisted Opening Folder 3.7" Satin Combo Edge, for the last 10+ years it is in my pocket every day. I have shipped it from many airports because I forgot it was in my pocket. 99% of its use is cleaning my finger nails. I sharpen it often and it is possible to shave with it. Now for my point of this conversation. I have cut myself out of carelessness more with this one knife than all my previous knives. I am currently looking at the Smith & Wesson SWBG2TS Border Guard 2 Rescue Knife with 40% Serrated Tanto Blade, Glass Break, and Seatbelt Cutter, Black (4.4" blade) and Cold Steel Recon 1 Tactical Knife with G-10 Handle Tanto Point with Black Blade, ComboEdge (4" blade). The fact is, this knife is a tool and not used as a weapon. A two piece pool stick could be mistaken as Martial Arts Escrima Sticks. I feel a 3 inch blade is a reasonable length for a folding carry pocket knife. Larger should be told to remove from public.
The max length for a folding knife is 4". I am not sure what the length is for fixed blades, but will find out. here is a helpful link.http:/homezperiodznetcomzperiodzcom/~brlevine/stazhyphenzlawzperiodzhtm
no more than a 3inch blade
You should be able to replace the blade in your knife.
