The 38-55 cartridge was not around in 1794,its very possable that your rifle was patented in 1894 which would be appropriate for the cartridge in question, and rifle.I would need more info on the rifle in question including the model number or name, along with a detailed description of the overall condition of the rifle to give it a designated value.
The value of a Stevens Model 34 22 LR caliber rifle is between $100 and $300. The overall condition of the rifle plays a large part in the final price.
About tree fiddy.
These range in price from 30-60 dollars.
I would say between 25-50 dollars.
Stevens Arms was an American firearms manufacturer founded by Joshua Stevens in 1864 and then bought by Savage Arms in 1920 but still retained the Stevens brand on a number of its low cost rifles and shotguns. The most common and notable of these is the Stevens Model 416 .22 caliber bolt action rifle that carries the long rifle round. A large number of these were supplied to the U.S. military as training rifles. Because these were very common and cheap to manufacture, they might not fetch a valuable price in a collector's point of view.
The singleshot Stevens 15A and 15B .22 rifles are worth %50 to $150, depending on the condition. The higher-end price seems to keep them sitting around for quite a while.
The general price range online is $150-$175 usd. Randy
A gun shop here in Grand Rapids is selling one for $79.00. (7/17/2008)
It is a nice rifle for the price. It fires quite accurately for being bore sighted at the place of purchase and needed no further adjustments prior to hunting. I have been firing 130 grain shells and has next to nothing for recoil.
I just bought one at Vances Outdoor Supply in Columbus, Ohio for $32.00. It really wasn't worth the price of the gun, but I bought it anyway...
i have a Stevens maynard jr and i found information at http://oldguns.netq&a it was introduced in 1900 value can be found at library or book store in Gun Digest or other price guide. Dick
