Cleveland, Ohio, is widely credited as having the first stoplight. James Hoge, an engineer, hooked up the first traffic light to the trolley line's electricity in 1914, using the red and green lights that were already familiar from their use by railroads. The light was controlled by a policeman in a booth nearby, who would flip the switch between red and green. The yellow light didn't come until later; it was an invention of William Potts, a Detroit police officer.
Technically, there were several experiments with traffic lights before Hoge's success in Cleveland, but none of them took off like his did.
what city in the u.s became the first to install an electric traffic light
The World's first traffic lights were installed in Detroit, USA in 1919.
I don't know about traffic lights, but Hershey, Pennsylvania has street lights shaped like Hershey's Kisses.

Stop lights, also known as traffic lights or traffic signals, were first installed in London, England. The first traffic signal was installed in 1868 to to help control traffic.

Lester Wire did not invent traffic lights. The modern electric traffic light system was invented by Garrett Augustus Morgan in 1923.
Logically, unless there were reasons to control traffic, there would have been no reason to create or install traffic lights. Because "traffic" generally comprises vehicles (motorized or otherwise), the traffic was probably there prior to the lights. Certainly, there were mechanical traffic signals that preceded traffic lights, not to mention traffic officers who once stood at busy intersections to direct traffic on a regular basis.
City cycle refers to the sequence of traffic lights on a roadway in a city. Drivers should aim to maintain a steady pace to minimize stopping at red lights and improve traffic flow. Adhering to the city cycle can help reduce congestion and improve overall efficiency on the road.
A LARGE CITY CAN HAVE AS MANY AS 10,000 INTERSECTIONS. MULTIPLY THIS TIMES ROUGHLY EIGHT AND IT IS CONCIEVABLE THAT A CITY SUCH AS LOS ANGELES OR HOUSTON COULD HAVE 80 THOUSAND TRAFFIC SIGNALS HANGING IN THEIR INTERSECTIONS. MULTIPLY THAT TIMES THREE AND THATS 240 THOUSAND LIGHT BULBS. ADD IN THE OVERHEAD LIGHTS AND PEDESTRIAN LIGHTS AND YOU APPROACH A MILLION LIGHTS OR MORE! (AND YOU THOUGHT YOUR ELECTRIC BILL WAS HIGH). LOL
The first traffic lights in London were installed on 10 December ,1868 outside British House of Parliament in London. They were gas lit and not electrically operated like the modern traffic lights.
