Chief Washakie criticized the white man and the federal government for their broken treaties and failure to honor agreements made with Native American tribes. He believed that the encroachment of settlers and the government’s policies undermined the sovereignty and rights of the Shoshone people. Additionally, he condemned the exploitation of Natural Resources on tribal lands without benefiting the tribes themselves, leading to the deterioration of their traditional way of life.
