Actually, as a security officer in Texas, as an inmate, if you're caught with a cell phone before your intake process (and you'd be suprised as to where a cell phone would end up) you usually end up in andministrative segregation until a small hearing is scheduled. Usually, time is never added; only restrictions, such as rec time restrictions, school/library restrictions, even bath time restrictions can be enforced. Now as an officer being caught with a cell phone on prison grounds, termination is immediately enforced, and those types of firings do not happen over the phone, YOU will take a walk out the unit with security escorts, just as if you were an inmate walking in. Public trials will ensue afterwards, and jail time is usually given as punishment since cell phones are considered contraband. Believe when you read that if you're fired from a government job like that, it's like getting a dishonorable discharge from the military services; finding work will be troublesome since you soiled your name poorly.
