A 9 year old child can ride in the front seat of a car. It is important that they are buckled in and can sit still.
In Ohio, a child can ride in a car without a car seat once they turn 8 years old or weigh at least 80 pounds, whichever comes first. However, it is recommended that children continue to use a booster seat until they are tall enough to properly fit a seat belt, typically around 4 feet 9 inches tall. Parents should ensure that the vehicle's seat belts fit correctly for optimal safety.
A child needs to be 3 years old!
You can find a cab with a car seat for your child by contacting a taxi company that offers this service or by using a ride-sharing app that provides the option to request a car seat.
Its shouldn't be dangerous if the child is in the backseat with a seat belt, or if the child is of correct age for safety restrictions, in the front seat with a seat belt. Make sure the child isn't taking of his/her seat belt and/or leaning out of the car.
