It depends on the parents decision. But I wouldn't put a 10-12 year old child in a booster seat.If they're over 3'5 then they don't have to have a booster seat. What helps is to not have a booster seat and have just a cushion/ pillow underneath there bottom so that the seat belt doesn't hurt their stomach or hurt anything else.
it depends on their laws
The age in which a child can stop using a car seat or booster seat varies from state to state. In Michigan, the child safety seat law says that a child under the age of eight years old must be in a safety seat unless they are taller than 4' 9.
Do this to check if a child can leave a booster. The child should place their back on the seat with their big ass in the end. If the child's feet can touch the ground they are ready. Most children stop using booster seats when they are 7.
A child must be at least 25 kilograms or nine years of age before being able to leave the booster seat
In the UK, a child can stop using a booster seat when they reach 135 cm in height or 12 years of age, whichever comes first. However, it is recommended that children use a booster seat until they are tall enough to wear a seat belt comfortably, which typically happens around 150 cm. Parents should ensure that the seat belt fits correctly across the child's lap and shoulder for optimal safety.
It is not age but pounds for a child seat. Check with your DMV, but I think it is over 40lb.
In Rhode Island, a child can stop using a booster seat when they reach 8 years of age or weigh 80 pounds, whichever comes first. Additionally, children should remain in a booster seat until they can properly fit in a seat belt, which typically occurs when they are between 4 feet 9 inches and 5 feet tall. It's important for parents to ensure the seat belt fits correctly across the child's lap and shoulder for maximum safety.
in the UK it is based on height the boundary is 150cm or 4ft 11inch
In some places age does matter i think its around 7 8 years old but they also have to meet the weight an height requirements .
In Arizona, children are required to use a booster seat until they are at least 8 years old or until they reach a height of 4 feet 9 inches. However, it's recommended that children continue using a booster seat until they can properly fit in a seat belt, which typically occurs when they are between 8 and 12 years old. Always ensure that the seat belt fits correctly across the child's lap and shoulder for optimal safety.
Children can typically stop using a booster seat when they reach around 4 feet 9 inches in height and are between 8 to 12 years old, depending on the specific laws in their state or country. They must also be able to sit comfortably with their back against the vehicle seat, their knees bent over the edge, and the seatbelt fitting properly across their shoulder and lap. It's important to follow local regulations and guidelines to ensure the child's safety.
