it depends on their laws
The age in which a child can stop using a car seat or booster seat varies from state to state. In Michigan, the child safety seat law says that a child under the age of eight years old must be in a safety seat unless they are taller than 4' 9.
Do this to check if a child can leave a booster. The child should place their back on the seat with their big ass in the end. If the child's feet can touch the ground they are ready. Most children stop using booster seats when they are 7.
A child must be at least 25 kilograms or nine years of age before being able to leave the booster seat
It is not age but pounds for a child seat. Check with your DMV, but I think it is over 40lb.
in the UK it is based on height the boundary is 150cm or 4ft 11inch
In some places age does matter i think its around 7 8 years old but they also have to meet the weight an height requirements .
It depends on the parents decision. But I wouldn't put a 10-12 year old child in a booster seat.If they're over 3'5 then they don't have to have a booster seat. What helps is to not have a booster seat and have just a cushion/ pillow underneath there bottom so that the seat belt doesn't hurt their stomach or hurt anything else.
Foe a child to stop sitiing in a booster seat in Virginia usually has to weigh at least 80 lbs or reach 4 feet. but don't take my word to heart cause this is just what I heard.
I believe the recommended height is 4"3'
Yes, booster seats need to be latched in order to be safely secured in a vehicle. Latching the booster seat ensures that it stays in place during a crash or sudden stop, providing proper protection for the child.
I'd say about 3-6 but they have to be a certain height and weight so it's different w/ every kid. Comment from Phatcharapimon : it depends on which types of booster seats; i.e. some may help safely transport "big kids" from 30-100 pounds, etc. (http://astore.amazon.com/healthy-care-booster-seat-20/detail/B004GEC8LU)
