any lights aside from front headlights, running lights (limited to white, blueish white & yellow) & brake lights in the rear. you have the license plate light, but anything besides that has to be red (& only for the brakes) & you are limited on the # of lights unless you have a trailer or something. no red lights in the front, blue & red lights are restricted for emergency vehicles & yellow/orange is anyone really, but you have to have a legit reason for having them.
READ the package the neon lights come in at AutoZone. it says "FOR OFF-ROAD USE ONLY" that's a cya for them (cover your ass) but that doesnt stop the buyer from actually doing it, just from them suing when the get an annoying 'fix-it' ticket (git rid of it or get it up to regulation)

(remember, the cop has to be able to prove it, so don't give up right away, but do remember they always have their camera running, so think how it would look on the video...)
