The State of Minnesota is within the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit, commonly referred to as the Eighth Circuit. It is a federal court with appellate jurisdiction over the district court of Minnesota.
The court is based at the Thomas F. Eagleton United States Courthouse in St. Louis, Missouri and has eleven active judges. It's commonly known that the Eighth Circuit is the most Republican Court of appeals in the United States, with 9 of the 11 appointed judges appointed by Republican Presidents.
Minnesota also falls under the jurisdiction of the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, which doesn't have geographic but rather subjective jurisdiction.
