The youngest person ever to be executed in the United States wasJames Arcene, who probably was only 10 or 11 years old when he was executed on June 18, 1885 for his role in a robbery and murder committed when he was 10 years old.

This answer was wrong.

He did commit the crime at 10 but was not convicted until he was 28.

The youngest person legally executed was Hannah Ocuish an Indian girl at the age of 12. She was convicted of killing a white girl over food. She was hung in Connecticut.

The youngest person to have been hanged in England was in 1708 of a boy called Michael Hammond aged 7, hanged in King's Lynn at the South Gate along side his sister Ann aged 11. During the 18th and 19th centuries in England children were routinely hanged for crimes ranging from murder to simple theft. Capital punishment is now illegal in the UK as it is in all EU member states.

There are often 'executions' of entire families including babies that occur in war zones and between rival factions and tribes in many places in the world.
