It always amazes me that the second amendment it interpreted today as if it is still 1776. At that time the British didn't want anyone but their own troops to own guns. The Americans said otherwise. We are not living then but now. We don't have single shot muskets and pistols and most of us do not hunt and gut game for food.
Now we have rapid firing hand guns and multiple round assault rifles. I agree that guns should be available for sale but those who buy should pass various tests. Other countries have much stricter gun laws and also lower homicides rates (not just for using a gun). If we don't allow certain people to fly and they are on a 'no fly' list, why can they buy guns? Why don't people who have guns secure them properly? If the idea of having a gun is so important, then there should be safety concerns addressed. We do have to wear seat belts and can't drive 'buzzed'.
