Thomas Jefferson wanted a strict interpretation of the Constitution. He believed a strict interpretation would be more empowering to the states.
Laws would have been stricter if Washington had listened to Madison and Jefferson's interpretation of the constitution. - opinion
Trick question The two are not connected.
James Madison was the "Father of the Constitution" - NOT Thomas Jefferson or George Washington. John Adams, who would later become the second president of the United States, assigned to Thomas Jefferson the task of writing the Declaration of Independence. This is why Jefferson is known as the "Father of the Declaration of Independence". George Washington, who led the American revolutionary forces and would later become the first president of the United States, is known as the "Father" of the United States. It should be noted that, in addition to being the primary author of the Constitution, Madison also was the primary author of the Federalist Papers. These documents explained the Constitution as it was being written. John Jay and Alexander Hamilton also contributed to the Federalist Papers.Thomas Jefferson!
The Anti-Federalist Party opposed the ratification of the U.S. Constitution during the period when the states were considering it. They believed that the Constitution would create a too powerful central government that would undermine the rights of the states. Their purpose was to advocate for a decentralized system of government with strong state powers and specific protections for individual liberties.

Do you mean, "Why did they create the Constitution?" or, "Why was the Constitution written down?" For "Why did they create the Constitution?", because the Founding Fathers realized that the Articles of Confederation were not stable enough. The United States needed a stronger federal government. For "Why was the Constitution written down?", so that if any changes were necessary, it would be easy, and also so that we wouldn't have to memorize the Constitution. If it had been strictly memory, the Constitution would have died with Jefferson and all those at the Constitutional Convention.
The promise that a Bill of Rights would be adopted.
One action that Thomas Jefferson considered as going beyond the Constitution was his decision to purchase the Louisiana Territory from France. Although he believed that the purchase was necessary for the future expansion and development of the United States, he acknowledged that the Constitution did not explicitly grant the president the power to acquire new territory. However, Jefferson believed that the acquisition would benefit the nation and therefore justified the decision.
Thomas Jefferson is probably more famous for the Declaration of Independence. This document is often confused with our constitution. When it comes to the writing of the constitution numerous delegates sent to Pennsylvania to revise the articles of confederation had their hands in that incident. The most famous, however, would probably be James Madison who was considered the "father of the constitution."
laws would of been stricter, if Washington had listend to Madison and jeffersons interpitation of the constitution.
Thomas Jefferson acually was a antifedaralist, or someone who didn't support the constition. He thought it would take away the colonists rights as free people.
