the fastest way to tell is if the center intake bolts are not there.the vortec heads that everyone wants for performance have no center intake bolts.
Into the heads only.
unscrew the bolts
The law of large numbers infers you will have 50% heads.
take out the cylinder head bolts

The parallel lines represent scarification patterns.
Arrow heads on lines usually signifies parallel lines
No such thing as a DE-TORQUE pattern.Just remove the bolts from the heads from front to back.
These bolts have elongated heads that fit in narrow sockets in the floor flange so they cannot turn.
I know on my vortec engine the valve cover bolts are in the center of the cover and there is only 4, my racecar has vortec heads and my truck has standard stock heads with four bolts on thew corners
