Can I get a copy of someone else's police report
individuals cannot amend a police report. The police department can do this (if they agree to) if they do not, then an attorney may have to be involved.
Filing a false police report is a criminal offense. If you know of someone who has done this, you should notify a police agency, preferably the one where the false report was filed.
Report them to the police
When your name is mentioned in a police report, it means that you are involved in an incident that the police are investigating. This could lead to further questioning, investigation, or legal action depending on the circumstances of the report.
Report it to the police.

Actually, many police will not write a report at all unless there is actual damage. If there was no report and no injury the DMV will not know in MHO>
You do not need to report it to the police you need to report it to the DMV within 5 days.
