CDS examination is one of the toughest examinations where students aspiring to make a career in defense forces appear for selection. There is a lot of coaching but in my opinion the Force, Tara Institute is one of the best coaching's which in the market. Apart from, the quality guidance they also have a lot to offer which makes the students successful in the CDS examination. CDS Examination Pattern The CDS written exam consists of three papers. General Knowledge- 100 Marks. English- 100 Marks. Mathematics- 100 Marks. All three papers of the CDS written exam are held on the same day and the duration of each paper is two hours. The papers of CDS written exam are of 100 marks each and the total of the CDS written exam is of 300 marks. The OTA Written exam consists of only two of the above-mentioned papers; General Knowledge- 100 Marks. English- 100 Marks. OTA Candidates are exempted from Mathematics exam. To join the Officers Training Academy (OTA) in India, candidates must first meet the eligibility criteria, which typically includes being a graduate and within a specific age range. They must then clear the Combined Defence Services (CDS) Examination conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). After passing the exam, candidates undergo an interview at the Services Selection Board (SSB) and, if selected, attend the OTA for training. Successful completion of the training leads to commissioning as an officer in the Indian Army.
