yes they do,bigtime indeed ive traveled back an forth from ca. to Alaska many times and this was before a passport was required.Anyhow being an avid world traveler to every contient except Antarctica numerous times, ive found that the Canadian border to be one of the strictest border checks of anywhere on the globe.Any sort of outstanding warrents <especially for drug and other very naughty criminal offenses>will be a sure fire way to get rejected from crossing the border. In numerous cases they will turn you right around and tell you so sorry for merely having a past criminal record that doesnt play their tune, warrent or no warrent, depending on the officer on duty its up to them weather or not your crossing or not,but from my past knowledge its a bad roll of the dice thinking you could get luckey.Other options are to fly in a plane which requires no documentation as long as you stay in the u.s.a.,,as well as taking a cruise ship or ferry boat through the inward passage along the pacific coast of Washington state. Not that iam recommending this but if one is on foot travel the borders do at several locations close at night and can easily be walked across in hope of a ride from a vehicle at another point in time. But do remember that illegally entering any where that requires a passport to enter and exit is agreat way to be arrested at any point of travel in a foreign land.So be cool and sail the 7 seas wisely especialiy if your an outlaw on the run if the sheriffs on your tail watch out not to end up in that ugly place called jail...

Does the Mexican border check everyone for warrants when crossing border?

When crossing the Mexican border into the United States, customs and border protection officials may conduct checks for outstanding warrants, but it is not guaranteed that every individual is checked. The primary focus is on identifying illegal contraband and immigration status. However, if an individual raises suspicion or is flagged by a database, they may be subjected to a more thorough examination, which could include checking for warrants.
