Best Answer

No. The Queen of England has very little real power, and the position is largely ceremonial. However, if the Queen felt strongly about an issue, the Prime Minister would certainly listen to her views.

In constitutional monarchies like the United Kingdom, the queen is expected to follow the laws like any other citizen. However, she also has certain immunities and privileges as the head of state. In practice, the queen fulfills her constitutional role based on advice from government ministers and abides by various conventions and protocols.

Yes she does; one of the government's duties is to not put the monarch into a position where she has to disobey her own laws.

No, the Queen has nothing to do with law-making. Everything is done in Parliament. All she does is officially sign her approval.

Why do Northern Americans not have to obey the law of Southern States?

They do have to obey those laws under certain circumstances. It depends where they are. If they are in a Southern state they must obey the laws in that state. Each state is a separate legal and political jurisdiction and all states have the legal right and obligation to adopt their own set of laws. Each state legislature has the power to enact laws in its own jurisdiction. A Northerner must obey the laws of any Southern state while they are in that state. A citizen from Maine, for example, does not have to obey the laws of Georgia, for example, as long as they stay in Maine and don't travel to Georgia. If the Maine resident travels to Georgia for a vacation, they must obey all the laws in Georgia while they are in that state.
