The Supreme Court used the equal protection principle to address discrimination in the workplace by ruling that classifications based on race or gender must meet a strict scrutiny standard to be constitutional. This meant that any discrimination based on these characteristics had to be justified by a compelling government interest to be valid. The Court's decisions established that equal protection of the laws applied to employment practices, helping to combat discrimination in the workplace.

Do plug in web cams work on apple laptops?

yes Well, not all. You can easily find lists of compatible devices online. Apple being Apple, they like to use 'Firewire' webcams since the data transfer is much faster and superme to USB devices. The official apple external iSight camera (which I do not know if they still sell officially!) is Firewire and is guaranteed to work!... :-)

How do you set a timing on a Oldsmobile cutless superme 1982?

The older GM cars used CCC (Computer Command Control) as the engine computer. Check the engine emissions sticker or the manufacturer's documentation first, but the general procedure to set the timing is to 1.) disconnect the 4 wire connector at the distributor, 2.) verify idle RPM, 3.) set timing with a light per the spec, 4.) reconnect the distributor, and 5.) reset the fault code caused by disconnecting the distributor.

What did Marx mean when he used the concept of alienation?

Marx had a very precise meaning someone else can offer. My interpretation of it is as follows: The division of humans into classes (which are relations to the means of production, which means you are in the working class if you don't own your workplace, in the capitalist class if you own places/machinery people work on) creates the division of labour (you do smaller tasks that are a tiny part of the production of the full product). The division of labour as well as the lack of ownership of what is produced (and lack of involvement in choosing what is produced) means that what you produce means nothing to you - you don't have any creative input into it. As humans are essentially a creative bunch, this is a very bad thing to happen.
