Well, most likely they will charge you a missed appointment fee to cover surgery running costs/overheads. If you don't pay this they will probably not give you another appointment but probably they will not pursue the charge if you leave and go elsewhere. However dentistry is a small world and most dentists in an area know each other and you could soon get your self a reputation if do it frequently and find yourself having to go far a field to get a dentist......

I work in a dental office. If you refuse to pay for a missed appointment, the most a dentist can/will "do" is dismiss you from the practice. We can't send you to collections over a missed appointment fee. If I were you, I'd simply let the office know that you are going to another office. But just so you know, it really does impact an office more than you may realize when you don't show up for your appointments. We charge $60 for a missed appointment but that doesn't even touch what was lost.

What does dental medically necessary mean?

It means medically necessary to live a normal life or gain normal use of your teeth. Such as, if you have a crown fall off that will expose a nerve and possible cause rotting or pain, it will be deemed medically necessary to repair. If you have a small chip that is unsightly but will cause no physical problem- then it would not be medically necessary. However, it is possible to find a creative dentist who is willing to consider it so if there is even a slight possibility that it could cause a disturbance in the future other than a cosmetic issue.

Do any law firms offer free legal advice?

Back in 2003 I went to court for demestic violence from my ex boyfriend because he punched me in the face and knocked out my front teeth. Prior to him doing that I had braces on for a few years and only had them off for about a month or so before he hit me. When we went to court he had to pay me back for the braces and he went to jail for about nine months that I'm aware of. At that time the dentist wasn't sure what type of work I will need done to fix my teeth because everyones body is different and who knows what I will need done in the future. So when we were going to court the judge didn't want to grant me any more money than just paying me back for the braces but he didn't actually pay for my teeth to get fixed. Now when I go see my dentist he tells me that he is surprised that they are still in there and it's possible for them to fall out at anytime. These past years they have caused me so much pain and so many tears. I am very insicure about my teeth because they have changed color and they have moved so much over the years. Along with my other teeth since I only had my braces off for about a month and I wasn't able to wear a retainer after I got hit. So at this point not only my front teeth need work but now my other teeth need work as well. A lot of my teeth are worst now than before I even had my braces on. I need two root cannals in the front, I have a infection that is causing me a lot of pain and I will need two implants after that. Since I needed these root cannals for a while now my front teeth are starting to show little cracks in them and after that they will just fall out from what my dentist has told me. At this point I'm so terrified of that happening and just want them fixed more than anything right now. I am extremely embarrassed of my teeth and it holds me back from so many things. It changes my mood when I'm around most people because I feel like everyone just stares at them. Everytime I talk or think about it, it just makes me cry and wish this never happened. I think about it every single day and it's just a reminder of what type of relationship I was in at that time. I would like to take him back to court and see if the judge can grant me the money to get them fixed since I don't have dental insurance and dental work is not cheap at all. Along with this not being my fault and should come out of his pocket, not mine. But I'm just not sure how to go about that... I don't want to get a lawyer, I just want to try to do it on my own. I'm worried I won't get anything because it has been so long but when it comes to teeth, they don't change overnight. It usually takes years for your teeth to change. Has anyone been through a similar situation that they can give me any advice on how to go about this? I want to thank you so much for taking the time and effort to read my letter and hopefully giving me any advice on how to move forward with this. I really wish you knew how much this means to me.

An Inside Look at Dental Implants?

When a person has permanently lost a tooth due to decay, injury or a failed root canal, a dental implant is often the best way to provide complete restoration to his or her smile. While dental implants are an invasive procedure that typically require more than one dental appointment to complete, modern medical technology has allowed today's dentists to provide patients with dental implants with very little pain or risk of complications. However, it is important to check the reputation of the dentist that is going to complete your dental implants to ensure that he or she has plenty of experience in this particular procedure. Here is an inside look at what you need to know about a dental implant procedure. In most cases, your dentist will require you to come in for a dental consultation before you can set an appointment to begin work on your dental implants. You can expect your dentist to examine the site of the tooth loss thoroughly before discussing the area with you over a fresh set of x-rays. This is the appropriate time to ask any questions that you may have about the procedure, particularly if you are one of the many people who suffer from anxiety in the dentist's chair. Your dentist will then provide you with an estimate for the procedure. Basic dental implants typically cost from $1000 to $3000, but more complex procedures can cost considerably more. After your dental consultation, your dental implant procedure will probably be split into two separate appointment. During your first appointment, your dentist will prepare the site of the implant by drilling a site hole into the your jaw after administering plenty anesthetic to the area. Once the site hole is complete, your dentist will place a titanium screw into the site that will soon hold your new dental implant. In most cases, you will need to return to your dentist after the site has had time to heal before replacement tooth can be installed. Some dentists will attach a temporary crown during your first appointment and replace it with a permanent crown during your second appointment.
