No. My guns are completely painted. In the U.S. it is legal to paint your gun. However, it is illegal to have the gun in sight in a public setting other than the arena where you play, or on your property. If anyone sees it they will think you have a real weapon and you will be treated as such. Keep the guns in a bag or case until you reach your field or house.

∙ 14y agoyes it is a federal law so it is a law for all states. the law also states that the police can confiscate an illegal airtsoft gun. now i live in PA and I have never heard this happen if you where following rules and regs. like playing whee allowed etc. but it is a federal law so technically they can take our stuff

Many jurisdictions have laws stating that non-lethal weapons must be painted or manufactured in a bright color and they must not be painted or altered, or made to appear, as if they are genuine firearms. In addition, common-sense should tell you that it is dangerous to possess, carry, or display non-lethal weapons made to look as if they were real. In an unintentional confrontation situation, as unfortunate as it may sound, if you appear armed, police officers are trained to use deadly force first and ask questions afterwards.

Depends on the law where YOU live- but it is a BAD idea everywhere. They are made clear, and/or with an orange tip, so that police officers know that it is NOT a real gun. Paint it black, and you may get to see a REAL gun. Very bad idea.
