Slaves had to listen to their master and if they disobeyed them they would get a beaten from them. Also, if the master wanted to teach you a lesson it could be by rape, which normally it was. Also it was from sexual abuse and rape so the master would strap you down and bang you into you couldn't take it anymore or learned your lesson.
This would depend upon what their job duty included. Slaves that worked inside the home would dress very nicely wearing suits. Slaves that worked outside, wore everyday clothes, such as long pants and shirts.
