1. Why are you running away?
If you had a fight, with someone in your family, running away from home, is not the solution.
2. If you have been abused, physically and/or sexually, there are groups, and people in almost every community, who can help you, and help you find a safe place, away from those who have abused you.
3. If you chose to leave, without the assistance of community aid, or help, you will have to have some sort of income, or funds, in order to survive.
This dilemma is particularly dangerous for any young person who attempts to survive on their own. By virtue of youth, experience and skills are often lacking. As a result, many young people find themselves in desperate situations, where they once again, become a victim. (examples are: some young women and men, resort to prostitution, or selling drugs, as a quick mode in acquiring money. These choices are not the solution to earning a dollar, quickly or otherwise, but guarantees the young man or woman will end up a victim.)
4. If you have a friend that you trust, live with them, and then get help.
5. You could also go to a homeless shelter, if no friends are available.
Running away may lead to temporary relief or escape, but it can also bring about negative consequences such as being in danger, experiencing hardships, and feeling isolated or lost. It's important to seek help and support when feeling overwhelmed or dealing with difficult situations instead of running away.
It is important to deal with the underlying issues that are causing you to want to run away instead of actually fleeing. Seek support from trusted friends, family, or a mental health professional to help you process your feelings and come up with a plan to address the problem at hand. Remember that running away may only create more challenges and make the situation worse in the long run.

If the child runs away and refuses to come home, the law may intervene by requiring the child to return home or initiating an investigation to determine if there are legitimate reasons for the child's actions. The law will prioritize the best interests of the child, which may involve mediation, counseling, or temporary alternative living arrangements if necessary. Ultimately, child protection agencies and the court may become involved to ensure the child's safety and well-being.
