Soft zoning is basically zoning using WWN of hosts... so mainitaining such a structure is quite difficult. However spoofing of WWN is rarely heard(though it is possible, but very hard to do since the hacker has to know to which ports WWN is connecting to , etc.)... Therefore security wise soft is very good but maintainance wise it is a head ache.
Hard zoning is easy to hack but very easy to maintain
