Words develop naturally. They are made up as slang and created because there is a need. A perfect example of that is the words related to computers. Thirty years ago many of the words in computers were used in other ways or have been added. Data, pages, input, output, texting, wifi, modem, internet, mouse, gigabit ,RAM, software , hardware are just a few of the words. Words also disappear because they are no longer needed. Splashdown is a good example of this. Language is always changing and growing.
