What do kurdish people want?

population wise, Kurds still mostly reside in Kurdistan, a region (not a separate country, which is what they do want) that comprises areas along the borders of mostly nothern Iraq and other countries. They have a good reason to want their own country, as Sadaam Hussein massacred a large number of them during his reign. They desire a sovereign country to call their own, though they lack the support of an organization like the Zionist movement that allowed Israel to gain support for its independence in 1948.
