Order and Progress
The Brazilian flag has four colors: green, yellow, blue, and white.
The green colour symbolizes the Brazilian tropical forests and rainforests. The yellow symbolizes gold (which was, by the time Brazil got independent from Portugal, a very important natural resource). And the blue symbolizes the Brazilian sky (a curiosity: according to the Discovery Channel, Brazil has the most blue sky of the world).
The Brazilian flag is green with a yellow diamond in the center containing a blue circle with 27 white stars representing the Brazilian states and the Federal District. Inside the circle is a banner with the national motto "Ordem e Progresso" which means "Order and Progress" in Portuguese.
