Piñata is Piñata in both English and Spanish.

A piñata is a cardboard (or sometimes paper mache) shape (usually in the shape of some animal) that is filled with candies (or other goodies). It is hung from a tree (or other solid object) and children are given a stick to beat it with. Sometimes, the children are blindfolded to make it harder for them (and more amusing for the spectators).

The children take turns smacking the piñata until it breaks open and spills all of it's candied innards all over the ground. Then the children have a wild free-for-all as they try to get the most candy as possible off the ground.

What is the spanish word for pinata?

Well, duh. The answer is pinata in Spanish and English. But, there is a squiggly line above the N. Was that help enough, you dummy? In fact it is piñata (with ñ) in both Spanish and English (that's the way it appears in the English dictionary) but I think that pinata is acceptable (on informal texts like chats or forums) if you write it with a keyboard without ñ.

Who created the pinata?

The word pinata is actually Chinese not Hispanic. It was used to celebrate the coming of Spring. Marco Polo voyaged to China where he was introduced to the Chinese custom and was eventually adopted by the Spanish, French and Italians. When Mexico was conquered by the Spanish this custom was brought to their new land. SO THIS MEANS THE CHINESE MADE THE PINATA!
