The easiest way I found to learn a language is through books published in Europe called "Assimil". Their book for Russian is called "Russian with Ease". Many of my European friends got great result with it learning Russian from zero to speaking in a month or so.
Ironically, the book itself may be very hard to find as Assimil stopped publishing it, and I don't believe even current Assimil offerings are distributed in the U.S.
